Wantagh Parkway Shut Down for Film Shoot

The northbound Wantagh State Parkway in Wantagh is being closed for much of Thursday to allow for a commercial to be shot.

The parkway is closed from to Merrick Road with cars being diverted instead to the Meadowbrook Parkway, according to New York State Department of Transportation spokeswoman Eileen Peters. The road closing is due to a permit that was issued for a commercial film shoot involving the manufacturing companies Michelin and Xerox, according to Peters.

The road closure began early Thursday morning  and is expected to last until the evening hours.
