Wantagh's Capobianco Splashes To Silver In Olympic Debut

The diver, originally from Long Island, has another chance to win gold at the Toyko Games.

TOKYO, JAPAN — Two-thirds of Andrew Capobianco's dream are complete. Capobianco, who found his love of diving while growing up in Wantagh, took silver today in the 3-meter synchronized springboard competition with Michael Hixon. This is the 21-year-old Capobianco's first Olympics.

The tandem from China took gold.

Capobianco has another chance to stand atop the medal podium when he takes part in the 3-meter springboard diving event. The preliminaries are Sunday at 2 a.m. New York time.
