WATCH: LI Pilot Ready To Rev Engine For His 20th Bethpage Air Show
It takes place on May 25 and May 26 at Jones Beach.
WANTAGH, NY — Tens of thousands will flock to Jones Beach for the Bethpage Air Show. The 20th anniversary takes place, weather permitting, on Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26.
While the U.S. Navy Blue Angels are the headliners for the 10th time, there is much more to the lineup.
Long Island pilot David Windmiller is back for his 20th year.

"This probably will be my best show," Windmiller told Patch. "We put together a really cool show. We had a DJ mix some good music. The show will be flown to the music."
Windmiller's in-air feats last approximately 11 minutes. In an effort to keep it fresh for the spectators, "you kind of learn new aerodynamic tumbles and crazy things you can do with airplanes."

Windmiller said he uses data to make changes each year.
As the show gets bigger, so does the crowd. He estimates up to 500,000 people, in good weather, will watch the air show over its two days.
Although Windmiller, of Melville, has real estate as his day job, he flies a handful of air shows each year and "Jones Beach is home." He was also part of the U.S. Aerobatics Team.
