Writers and photographers from Wantagh High School literary magazine have been honored with ten awards from New York state organizations.
The Empire State School Press Association honored class of 2013 graduate Erin Smith with a Gold award for two of her photos and a bronze award for two more.
Another 2013 class member, Cara Messina received a silver award for one of her photos.
Sophia Pinciotto won a Silver award for her poem "Kites," while Lucy Bailey, Jaclyn Onufrey and Josie Rerecich received Honorable Mention in the poetry Division.
Meanwhile, Cara and Josie were also honored by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association. Cara won third prize for he cover photo and Josie won second prize for her work, "Almost Dawn-A Pantoum."
