Woman Charged With DWI In Crash That Injured 3: Nassau Police
Police say the woman was driving drunk when she caused a crash that injured three people, one seriously.

SEAFORD, NY — A Copiague woman was arrested Friday and charged with driving while intoxicated in connection with a Seaford car crash that injured three people, one seriously.
According to police, the crash occurred around 9 p.m. on Aug. 6 at the intersection of Merrick Road and Neptune Avenue. A 59-year-old woman is in critical condition. Two other people — a 57-year-old woman and a 68-year-old man — suffered minor injuries.
Police arrested Joann Kania, 57, of Mariners Way, Copiague, at 10:13 p.m. that night, and announced the arrested on Monday.

Kania is charged with driving while intoxicated, first-degree vehicular assault, second-degree assault, third-degree assault, reckless endangerment and reckless driving. She was arraigned in the hospital on Aug. 8.
