3-Alarm Fire Breaks Out In Washington Heights Nail Salon: FDNY
Nobody was injured during the fire, which spread to the second and third floors of a St. Nicholas Avenue building.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — Firefighters battled a raging 3-alarm electrical fire into Thursday morning at a Washington Heights nail salon, fire officials said.
A blaze broke out around 11:24 p.m. Wednesday at a salon on the ground floor of 1306 St. Nicholas Ave., located between West 175th and 176th streets, an FDNY spokesman said. The fire eventually spread to the salon awning and inside the walls of the six-story building's second and third floors, requiring more firefighters to rush to the scene, fire officials said.
The fire was put under control shortly after 12:45 a.m. Thursday, an FDNY spokesman said. Nobody was injured during the fire, the spokesman said.

A total of 138 firefighters from 33 fire units responded to the scene of the fire, an FDNY spokesman said.
The fire was ruled an accident caused by electrical building wiring, city fire marshals said. The building had working smoke alarms, fire marshals said.
