INWOOD, NY — Police are searching for a group of teenage boys after a 64-year-old woman was struck by stray gunfire while walking on a Manhattan sidewalk on Monday, officials said.

She has since been identified as Francisca Nunez. Speaking to ABC7 from her hospital bed at Harlem Hospital, Nunez said she saw dozens of teens dressed in black arguing nearby when one of them pulled out a knife, followed moments later by a gunshot.
"She said if she had a message for the teens, it would be to stay in school instead of running around and killing each other," Nunez told the outlet.
