Jiminez was identified as the shooter after the NYPD detectives who initially worked the case re-opened the investigations as members of the Manhattan district attorney's cold case squad, the Daily News reported. The investors re-interviewed witnesses of the shooting and were able to find people who could identify Jiminez as the gunman, according to the report.

The accused shooter was tracked down in Liberty, New York, a small town of about 800 people in the Catskills.
