Inwood Film Festival Announces Programming Schedule
Check out which films will be screened during the festival that showcases Inwood and local filmmakers.

INWOOD, NY ā The Inwood Film Festival is set to return for its third year in March. Festival organizers announced the festival's programming schedule and ticket information Thursday.
This year's Inwood Film Festival will feature 24 official selections that will be screened on two nights, Inwood Art Works announced. All the films had to either be made in Inwood or made by an Inwood native to be eligible to the festival.
"The focus of Inwood Film Festival is to celebrate and showcase Inwood and its surrounding community through the moving image. It is created to be a homegrown community platform to promote and celebrate the neighborhood of Inwood and its residents," reads a press release from Inwood Art Works. "All films submitted to the Inwood Film Festival are shot in Inwood or its surrounding community or made by past or present residents of Inwood or from its surrounding community."

The festival will span three days and include an opening night benefit event for Inwood Art Works, the nonprofit organization that organizes the festival. The opening night benefit for the festival will be held March 15 at the Campbell Sports Center on West 218th Street and Broadway, according to a press release. The benefit will include a presentation on the history of "Hollywood" in Inwood, short film screening and filmmaker interviews with WNYC host Brian Lehrer.
Inwood Art Works also announced ticket prices for the upcoming festival. Festivalgoers can purchase $15 tickets for individual screenings, a $50 festival pass for all screenings or a $105 ticket that includes a festival pass and a ticket to the opening night benefit.

- Long Shorts: Documentary Portraits at 7 p.m.
- Featuring: "Harv," "On Some Strange Mornings," "Pablo Caviedes ā On the Map" and "For the Birds."
- "Brief Reunion" screening at 8:15 p.m.
Saturday, March 17:
- Long Shorts: Women in the World at 1:05 p.m.
- Featuring: "Manzana," "The Hire Wire," "Significant One," "Parachute" and "What If�"
- Long Shorts: This Land is Your Land at 2:35 p.m.
- Featuring: "Good Immigrants," "The Pleasure of Being Served," "Day," "Night Morning," "Gentrification Express: Breaking Down the BQX" and "Mannahatta."
- "Idol Worship" screening at 4:30 p.m.
- Short Shorts at 7 p.m.
- Featuring: "The Race (Student Film)," "My Head," "Horror in the Heights," "Start Small Think Big," "Hechas en Mexico," "The 3rd Try" and "May 22, 2012."
- This American Death screening at 8:15 p.m.
