Man Shoved Onto Train Tracks In Washington Heights, Police Say

The man suffered injuries from the shove, but was not struck by a train, police said.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a man who shoved a person onto the tracks of a Washington Heights subway station, police said.

The suspect was arguing with a 50-year-old man Saturday morning in the West 181 Street and Fort Washington Avenue "A" train station when the verbal dispute became violent, police said. During the argument, the man pushed the victim onto the southbound train tracks, police said.

The man who was pushed onto the tracks was treated for minor injuries at Harlem Hospital, police said. The man was injured during the fall, and was not struck by a train, police said.

The suspect is described as a man in his 50s standing 6-feet-tall and weighing about 160 pounds, police said. The NYPD released photos of the man captured by subway station security cameras (seen above). He was last seen wearing all dark clothing, police said.
