Man Swipes Electronics From Washington Heights Apartment: Police

The thief stole the items before leaving an apartment on West 164th Street and Broadway.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — The NYPD is trying to locate a man wanted for stealing electronics from a Washington Heights apartment, police said.

Renaldo Alexander, 33, was inside an apartment on West 164th Street and Broadway with its 66-year-old resident on the night of Dec. 20, police said. Before Alexander left the apartment, he took the man's cellphone and iPad mini, police said.

Security footage from the building's lobby shows Alexander placing the electronic devices into his coat pocket before leaving the building.

Alexander (pictured above) is described as standing 5-foot-8 and weighing about 175 pounds, police said.
