Teen Arrested For Mugging Deliveryman In Washington Heights: Cops
The 14-year-old was charged with robbery.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY ā A teenager is facing charges for robbing and beating a deliveryman on a Washington Heights street, police said. The 14-year-old was charged with two counts of robbery after turning himself into police for the mugging, police said.
The teen and another suspect ā who remains on the loose ā attacked and robbed a Chinese food deliveryman Thursday night on the sidewalk of West 186th Street between Audubon and Saint Nicholas avenues, police said.
The two accused robbers approached the 38-year-old victim as he was straddling his bicycle after coming to a stop on the street, police said. The suspect who has not been arrested initiated the mugging by pushing the deliveryman off his bike into a nearby parked car and hitting him on the head, police said.

The two suspects lifted $130 in cash from the deliveryman's pocket before fleeing the scene, police said. The victim suffered pain to his head, but refused medical attention at the scene, police said.
The suspect on the loose is described as in his late teens and standing around 5-foot-9, police said. The mugger was last seen wearing a white and black hoodie with a bandage under his left eye, police said.
