Washington Heights Jazz Festival To Feature 12 Bands
The inaugural Washington Heights Jazz Festival will be held in March.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY ā A local group of jazz musicians is organizing Washington Heights' first-ever jazz festival. The Washington Heights Jazz Festival will span three days in March, featuring 12 different bands.
The festival is being organized by the local organization JazzWaHi, according to the group's website. JazzWaHi was founded by singer Louise Rogers and pianist Mark Kross to serve as the neighborhood's source for jazz education and performance.
Performances for the Washington Heights Jazz Festival will be spread out from March 9-11 at three different neighborhood venues. The participating venues are Kismat Bar on Ft. Washington Avenue and West 187th Street, Le Cheile on West 181st Street and Cabrini Boulevard and Las Tapas on West 187th Street and Ft. Washington Avenue.

Most of the festival's events are free, but tickets will be required for Saturday morning, afternoon and evening shows. Festivalgoers will also have the opportunity to buy a day pass for Saturday and gain access to all three shows with one ticket.
