Washington Heights Woman, 82, Goes Missing, Police Say

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — The NYPD is asking for the public's help to locate an elderly woman reported missing in Washington Heights.

Janet Markoe, 82, was last seen Thursday morning at her apartment building on West 190th Street between Overlook Terrace and Fort Washington Avenue, police said. Markoe's whereabouts after 5 a.m. on Thursday are unknown, police said.

Markoe (pictured above) is described as standing 5-foot-2 and weighing about 120 pounds, police said. The missing woman was last seen wearing a red winter coat.
