Jessie Eisenberg Kicking Off West Village Theater's Season With A Jam

The Session Jam hosted by Jessie Eisenberg will offer a peek into the Rattlestick Theater's upcoming season.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — The popular Rattlestick Theater in the West Village is kicking off its season soon, and Academy Award Nominee Jessie Eisenberg will help get it started with a jam session.

The "Social Network" actor will host the theater's Session Jam, which will give a sneak preview into Rattlestick's 28th season.

The Session Jam will take place at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the theater at 224 Waverly Pl.

Other artists set to participate in the theater's opening event of the season include Basil Kreimendahl, Dael Orlandersmith, a.k. Payne, Arturo Luis Soria, May Treuhaft-Ali, Minghao Tu, and Jennifer Westfeldt.

All the artists will be presenting excerpts from their work at the Session Jam.

After the event, there will be a reception in the theater's courtyard where guests can chat and ask questions to the artists. The reception will include actual jam.

“Rattlestick is the home of so many of my favorite memories in the theater — as an actor, as a
writer, and most of all, as an audience member," Eisenberg said in a press release. "It’s the epitome of cool downtown theater.”

Eisenberg who was born in Queens and grew up in East Brunswick, New Jersey, attended The New School in Greenwich Village.

The Rattlestick Theater was founded in 1994 and has a "deep commitment to producing fierce works in partnership with community organizations that challenge and stimulate audiences to confront the complexities of our cultures."
