Man Forced Into Sex Act On Manhattan Subway, Police Say

UPDATE: A 36-year-old man named Mohammad Azeem was arrested in connection to this incident and charged with rape in the first degree, sex abuse in the first degree, and forcible touching on May 1 at 3:46 p.m., police say.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — Police were looking Thursday for a perpetrator who forced a commuter to perform oral sex on him while aboard an uptown-bound 1 train in the West Village.

According to the New York City Police Department, the perpetrator made lewd remarks toward the 27-year-old man and demanded money from him on Saturday at 4:15 a.m. on the 1 train.

As the train approached the Christopher Street subway station, the perpetrator then forced the victim to perform oral sex on him, police said.

Then, the perpetrator left Christopher Street station and ran away in an unknown direction, police said.

Medics took the victim to Northwell Greenwich Village Hospital in stable condition, police said.

Police are still investigating the incident and have not made any arrests yet.
