A man strolled into a Greenwich Village bank on Thursday and passed a note to the teller demanding money, police said.

GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — A man recently attempted to rob a bank in the Greenwich Village by pretending to have a gun and passing a note demanding cash, a spokesperson from the New York Police Department said.
The attempted heist took place Thursday around 3:15 p.m. inside a Weels Fargo location at 374 Avenue of the Americas, police said.
The man walked into the Lower Manhattan bank, approached a 21-year-old bank teller, made hand motions indicating that he had a gun, and passed a note to the teller asking for money, police said.
