Man Wanted In Village Butt-Grabbing Spree: NYPD

The man grabbed six peoples' butts on July 20 and 21 in the West Village, East Village, and Chelsea, said the NYPD.

THE VILLAGE, NY — A man went on a two-day spree of grabbing butts in the Village, police said Thursday morning.

The suspect is wanted for grabbing six peoples' butts in the West Village, East Village, and Chelsea on July 20 and July 21, police said.

In each incident, the man snuck up from behind, grabbed his victim's buttocks then ran away, police said.

Police did not specify if the people grabbed were men or women. According to police, there have been no injuries.

Wednesday, July 20

  • Incident #1: About 2:30 p.m. at corner of Fifth Avenue and East 8th Street.
  • Incident #2: About 3 p.m. at corner of Greenwich Avenue and Avenue of the Americas.

Thursday, July 21

  • Incident #3: About 12:50 p.m. in front of 229 E. 12th St.
    • Incident #4: About 12:55 p.m. in front of 229 E. 12 St. The man was observed on surveillance camera wearing a grey t-shirt, grey shorts and sneakers, police said.
    • Incident #5: About 1 p.m. hours at the corner of Third Avenue and East 12th Street.
    • Incident #6: About 1:50 p.m. at the corner of Seventh Avenue and West 28th Street.

    NYPD describe the man wanted as six feet tall and 180 pounds with brown eyes.
