NEW YORK, NY — The first three-day weekend of 2023 is here with the celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday.

From a jazz festival across the city to a day honoring the work of Martin Luther King Jr. in Prospect Park, there are lots of options around the city this weekend.

Saturday

Hamilton: Richard Rodgers Theater, Times Square

The record-breaking Broadway smash hit is still running at Richard Rodger's Theater at 226 W. 46th St, and you can check out two show times on Saturday.

2023 Winter Jazz: Various venues across the city

Hundreds of music groups will perform across the city for the annual festival.

Winter Jazzfest celebrates "music as a living entity, wherein history collides with the future in every note."

globalFEST: Lincoln Center, Manhattan

The 20th rendition of the annual globalFest will take place across multiple stages at Lincoln Center's new David Geffen Hall.

The international-music showcase will take place starting at 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Queens College MLK Day Celebration: LeFrak Concert Hall, Flushing, Queens

Queens College will host its annual MLK Day celebration at the same LeFrak Concert Hall venue that the iconic Civil Rights leader delivered a speech in 1965.

This year's program will feature Grammy-nominated jazz singer Samara Joy, and a keynote address by Dr. Jelani Cobb.

Monday

Harlem Gospel Choir Performance: Times Square, Manhattan

The Harlem Gospel Choir will perform a Martin Luther King Jr. Day matinee at Sony Hall at 235 W. 46th St.

The choir is a renowned gospel group that performs worldwide.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day In Prospect Park: Prospect Park, Brooklyn

The Prospect Park Park Alliance will commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Brooklyn park.

There will be park cleaning tasks and other service-based activities.
