Fire Along NYC Pride Parade Route Injures 9 (UPDATE)

The fire broke out between the first and second story of a building on Hudson Street.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — Authorities battled a fire along the NYC Pride parade route that left nine firefighters injured. The fire, between the first and second floor of a building on Hudson Street, broke out around 3 p.m. Sunday.

Crews were able to bring the fire under control nearly three hours later at 5:45 p.m.

An FDNY spokesperson told Patch that the blaze broke out at 615 Hudson Street. The building also had elevated carbon monoxide levels, according to the FDNY.

A total of nine firefighters suffered injuries in the blaze and at least two of the firefighters have serious injuries, the spokesperson said.
