WEST VILLAGE, NY — Pancake lovers rejoice. A popular all-day breakfast restaurant that centers its menu around pancakes recently opened its first location in New York City — and it is in the West Village.

Breakfast By Salt's Cure, which has locations in Santa Monica and Los Angeles, opened last week at 27 Morton Street.

The eatery is best known for its "Oatmeal Griddle Cakes" (pancakes) that it offers in a variety of flavors from an old family recipe of the restaurant's owner and chef — Chris Phelps.

Tristan Harrington, the kitchen manager of the new West Village location, told the Gothamist that the 27 Morton Street outpost will serve as the New York flagship, but the restaurant also plans to open two more eateries in the five boroughs.

"No syrup. Ever," Harrington told the Gothamist. "It's how Chris's grandmother served them originally. The family never ate them with syrup—it's not necessary because they're sweetened a little more than a normal pancake. And there's sugar on top [and] in all of the garnishes. We're not anti-syrup. I grew up in Upstate New York, I love maple syrup, but it's not necessary with these."

There are also some non-pancake menu options, including a breakfast sandwich, eggs, sausage patties, and home fries.

The new Breakfast By Salt's Cure location in the West Village is open every day from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
