'SNL' Star Attacked At Iconic West Village Comedy Cellar: Report

Former SNL cast member Chris Redd was sucker punched as he arrived at the Comedy Cellar on Wednesday night, TMZ and the NY Post reported.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — Former "Saturday Night Live" star Chris Redd came to the West Village's Comedy Cellar Wednesday night expecting to deliver punch lines, but instead was punched in the face, according to officials and reports.

Redd, 37, arrived the iconic club at 117 MacDougal St. about 9:40 p.m. and was charged by a punch-throwing man dressed as a security guard, reported the New York Post.

Redd was left with cuts on his face and was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he was treated and released, an NYPD spokesperson told Patch.

The attacker did not say anything before throwing the punch, and proceeded to run off in an unknown direction, police said.

Redd recently left SNL after five seasons on the show.
