WEST VILLAGE, NY — For the past year, Eater NY has kept a tool called the Cocktail Heatmap, which offers a guide to the "hottest drinking dens of the moment across New York City."

On Wednesday, the food and restaurant website updated the map to include three September watering hole additions.

Bandits, a recently opened 1970s-themed bar in the West Village at 44 Bedford Street, was among the new lauded trio of bars.

Here's what the Eater NY staff had to say about the West Village newcomer:

"Grab a seat at one of the bar’s brown leather stools situated underneath a golden disco ball affixed to the ceiling, and ease into cocktails like Bradshaw on Bedford, a frothy pink drink made with rhubarb, rose petal, and sun-dried tomato; and the Smokey Cokey, featuring rum and fernet mixed with a Coca-Cola reduction. Pair the drinks with plates of hot and crispy tots and tuna melts."

Bandits opened on Bedford Street at the end of May 2021, replacing the beloved Daddy-O bar that served customers at the address for more than 20 years.

The bar has 32 seats, 30 seats outside, and a "stealing time" theme that covers the joint with a collection of vintage clocks, hourglasses, and other time-telling devices.

You can find out more about Bandits and the bar's menu on its website.
