Who Is Greenwich Village Supporting For Mayor? Money Talks
Here's a check-in on which mayoral candidates are raising the most money in Greenwich Village.

GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — Normally, Greenwich Villagers might find out who their neighbors are supporting for mayor by looking at polls, but for an election where polling is sparse, following the money can reveal which candidates are gaining steam in the neighborhood.
An interactive map by the city's Campaign Finance Board shows contributions for all of this year's races, including mayor, comptroller, city council and borough president.
With just over 10 days until the June 22 primaries, here's which candidates are leading in the Lower Manhattan neighborhood.

McGuire Holds Strong Lead
Ray McGuire, the former Wall Street executive, leads the money race in Greenwich Village, raking in almost $575,000 in the 10003, 10011, 10012, and 10014 ZIP Codes.
Despite coming in seventh place at 4 percent in a recent mayoral poll by NY1, McGuire has dominated the fundraising game in many of Manhattan's wealthiest enclaves, including on the Upper West Side and Upper East Side.

Shaun Donovan, the former housing secretary in the Obama administration, is in a somewhat distant second with $258,689 raised from Greenwich Village residents. Nonprofit executive Andrew Yang is in third at $158,741.
In fourth and fifth place are Comptroller Scott Stringer and former top city lawyer Maya Wiley, who have raised $147,539 and $127,656 in Greenwich Village, respectively. Former sanitation commissioner Kathryn Garcia is not far behind, at $105,615.
Meanwhile, Brooklyn Borough President and leader in the NY1 poll Eric Adams lags behind the rest of the field in Greenwich Village at $67,315. The nonprofit leader Dianne Morales is even further behind at $53,801.

Wiley, Stringer Lead In Total Donations
Breaking the data down by the total number of donations for each candidate can show a different way to measure support.
By that metric, Wiley leads the Greenwich Village ZIP codes with 1,322 total contributions from the neighborhood. She is the only candidate with over 1,000 donations from residents in the area.

Trailing her is Stringer, who has gotten 931 total donations.
Yang and McGuire are third and fourth, with 763 and 733, respectively. No other candidate has over 600 donations made to their campaigns by Greenwich Village residents.
McGuire has the highest average donation from residents in Lower Manhattan's City Council District 3 at $804.
