Woman Grabbed By Hair In String Of Village, Stuy Town Muggings
Police are hunting two men and a woman.
EAST VILLAGE, NY – A violent group of two men and a woman have been attacking people in Greenwich Village and the East Village, in one case throwing a woman to the ground by her hair before robbing her, police said.
The three first attacked a woman, 41, in front of an apartment building at 160 West 12th St. They grabbed her purse at 10:30 p.m. on January 15 and escaped with $80 and the victim's credit card, according to the NYPD.
On Jan. 21, the same three approached a man, 22, and woman, 28, who were sitting on a park bench near FDR Drive at East 20th Street around 1 a.m. They grabbed the woman's hair, throwing her to the ground, before punching the man and running off with credit cards, cash and a cell phone, police said.

Then, on Jan. 23, they tried to snatch another woman's purse at 10:18 p.m. at 167 West 12th St. That time they were unsuccessful, police said.
One of the male attackers was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a black jacket and light-colored jeans, police said. The other is described as heavy set and the woman was said to be wearing a green jacket.
