Yucatan Restaurant To Open In The West Village: What To Know
YUCO will open on June 15 at 33 West 8th Street with a 30 person main dining room and a bar that seats 32 more.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — A new restaurant is coming to the West Village that will highlight the flavors of the Yucatan Peninsula, which includes cuisines from Mexico, Guatemala, and Belize.
YUCO will open on June 15 at 33 West 8th Street. The restaurant will initially be open for dinner from Tuesday through Sunday, 5:30 to 10 p.m., and serve customers at the bar Tuesday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to midnight, Friday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., and Sunday from 5 p.m. to midnight.
The restaurant will begin offering brunch hours sometime in July.

"Diners will experience inventive Yucatan flavor combinations, delivering visually striking food that reimagines traditional Yucatan cuisine," according to a press release from the restaurant.
The kitchen will be led by Chef Christian Ortiz, who will oversee the 30-person dining room and 32-person bar.

The restaurant is divided into two main spaces, with casual cuisine with high-end cocktails offered in the front room and a choice of tasting menus and a la carte service in the dining room — flanked by an open kitchen that customers can peer into.
The bar contains "ancient artifacts almost 2,000 years old," according to the news release.
