2 Drivers Charged With DWI After 2 Hampton Bays Crashes In 2 Days: PD
One of the crashes involved 3 vehicles, police say.
HAMPTON BAYS, NY — Two drivers were arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after two crashes in Hampton Bays in two days, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, the first crash took place on Friday at about 4:55 p.m. at Old Riverhead Road East and Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays. One of the drivers, Josef Talik, 63, of Hampton Bays, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor DWI, police said; he was taken to police headquarters where he was processed and held for morning arraignment, authorities said.
On Saturday, July 27 at about 9:12 p.m., Julio A. Esquivel, 65, of Hampton Bays was arrested, police said. At 8:47 p.m., police responded to West Montauk Highway and Bellows Pond Road in Hampton Bays following a three-vehicle crash, authorities said. Esquivel was arrested and charged with misdemeanor DWI; he was transported to police headquarters and held for morning arraignment, police said.
