Car Fire Breaks Out On Long Island Expressway: Police

No injuries were reported, police say.

MANORVILLE, NY — A car fire on the Long Island Expressway reportedly resulted in traffic delays Monday.

According to Suffolk County police, the car fire took place on the westbound Long Island Expressway near Exit 68 Monday afternoon. A 2009 Chevy Impala was being towed when the vehicle caught fire, police said.

The Manorville Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire, police said.

Investigators believe the incident to be non-criminal, and there were no injuries, police said.
