Cooling Center Opens in Hampton Bays
The center will be open until 4 p.m. each day this week.
With temperatures to reach 100 degrees by Wednesday and last through the weekend, the Town of Southampton has opened its three cooling centers, one located in Hampton Bays.
The centers will be open each day this week from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The town is also urging residents to take precautions to avoid heat stroke and heat exhaustion by avoiding strenuous activities, wear light clothing, use air conditioning and stay hydrated.
