Friends Open Hearts To Bring Former Magic's Pub Owner Home

"Magic's and the Artful Dodger were the go-to spots for everyone."

WESTHAMPTON BEACH, NY — Heartbroken friends have come together recently to bring a beloved member of the Westhampton Beach community home to say good-bye.

A GoFundMe, "Bring Billy Thorne Home For A Proper Farewell," was organized by MaryLou Thorne Lemmen.

"RIP, Billy 'Quack Quack' Thorne," she wrote. "As you all know, we have sadly and suddenly just lost our brother, uncle, friend, infamous Magic's Pub bar owner, Billy Thorne. Billy passed away at his condo in Florida, and we are anxious to get him home, here to Westhampton Beach — his hometown."

She added: "Billy was always a giver, always there for anyone and everyone! His pub was 'Magic', to say the least. The history of this beyond-missed place goes deep. If you know, you know. Magic's and the Artful Dodger were the go-to spots for everyone — whether it be a family meal with English muffin burgers and best pickles, an after golf beer (or two), late night partying with the best local bands and more . . . everyone was welcomed."

The fundraising commenced to "help get Billy home and give him the proper send off we all agree he deserves. God Bless and Quack Quack," she said.
