'Go Red' Event Spotlights Heart, Brain Health At Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center
The free event aims to raise awareness about heart and brain health while fostering connection through conversation, music.

WESTHAMPTON BEACH, NY — An upcoming "Go Red" event aims to raise awareness about heart and brain health by fostering connection through conversation and music in Westhampton Beach.
The community is invited to the event, slated to be held on Thursday, February 12 at 6 p.m. at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center.
Hosted in partnership with Katz Institute for Women’s Health and the Westhampton Performing Arts Center, the evening will feature a conversation with two nationally recognized leaders in women’s health and aging.

The conversation features Stacey E. Rosen, MD, FAHA, Partners Council Professor of Women’s Health and professor of Cardiology at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell; executive director of the Katz Institute for Women’s Health; senior vice president for Women’s Health at Northwell Health; and volunteer president (2025–2026) of the American Heart Association.
Also speaking will be Maria Torroella Carney, MD, MACP, AGSF, Nancy and Neal S. Kaplan Professor at
the Zucker School of Medicine; senior vice president and president of Glen Cove
Hospital; executive director of the Northwell Aging Institute; and system chief of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine.

Together, Dr. Rosen and Dr. Carney will share expert insights on protecting heart and brain
health during aging, highlighting prevention, awareness, and practical strategies for long-term wellness, event organizers said.
In addition, "adding a unique and uplifting element to the evening," attendees will enjoy a special performance by Melodies & Memories, a senior singing group known for bringing classic songs to life through shared memories and storytelling.
Following the program, guests are invited to stay for cocktails and light bites, offering an "opportunity to connect with fellow community members in a relaxed setting," event organizers said.
