Halloween Weekend Storm: 50 MPH Winds, Coastal Flooding Possible
Will things clear up for trick-or-treaters Sunday? Check out the latest forecast.

LONG ISLAND, NY —Halloween weekend will get off to a stormy start with heavy rain, 50 mph winds and coastal flooding in the forecast for Long Island.
A wind advisory is in effect until 6 a.m. Saturday for the entire island. Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects, the National Weather Service says. Tree limbs could also be blown down, causing a few power outages. The strongest winds are expected Friday night.
"Due to recent rainfall and a saturated ground there may be a few uprooted trees," the advisory says.

Moderate to heavy rain is likely on the island Friday night through Saturday evening. Coastal flood advisories have been issued for southern Nassau County and southwestern Suffolk County. Minor flooding is expected in the more vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline.
Flash flooding cannot completely be ruled out, but chances appear low at this time, the weather service says.

The rain should taper off to showers come Saturday night. There's a slight chance of rain Sunday morning, but overall, it's looking to be a great day for your kids to load on Halloween candy that you can steal while they are sleeping.
"A breezy and seasonably mild day overall with temperatures actually getting a few degrees above normal with lower and middle 60s across the region," the weather service says of Sunday.
