Hampton Bays Man Charged With Felony DWI After Crashing Into Ditch: PD

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A Hampton Bays man was charged with driving while intoxicated after crashing into a ditch and striking a fence Wednesday night, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, the incident took place at about 10:10 p.m. on Lynn Avenue. Alexander Deperte, 41, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was found to be intoxicated by officers, arrested, and charged with felony DWI, police said.

He was taken to police headquarters in Hampton Bays, where he was processed and held for morning arraignment, police said.
