Man Drove Drunk With Child, 11, In Vehicle: Police
The incident took place in Hampton Bays early Sunday, police say.
HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A Hampton Bays man was arrested after driving drunk with a child, 11, in the vehicle, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, the incident took place on Sunday at about 3:02 a.m. on Monday Highway in Hampton Bays. A police officer saw the driver of a brown 2014 Honda four-door sedan failing to maintain his lane of travel, near the cross street of Gravel Hill Road, authorities said.
Ney A. Carreraurgiles, 37, was determined to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated with the child in the vehicle, police said.

He was arrested and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a felony under Leandra's Law; driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor; and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, police said.
The vehicle Carreraurgiles was operating was impounded; he was transported to police headquarters,k where he was processed and held for arraignment, police said.
