Memorial Service at Sea Set for Boardy Barn Bouncer

A service will be held on the Shinnecock Canal for Jason Hosbon, affectionately known as H-Bomb.

Ask anyone who knew Jason Hobson and they will tell you he loved the local waterways, fishing them since he was 12 years old.  That is why his friends decided to hold a memorial service for the man they loved at the place he cherished most.

On Saturday, September 28, at 2:30 p.m. Hobson, known affectionately as H-Bomb, will be remembered at a memorial service aboard the Mary Ann, in the Shinnecock Inlet.

Friends are asking, via a Facebook page dedicated to the memory of Hobson, for boaters and fellow fishermen to follow.

In case of rain, the service will be held on Sept. 29 at 2:30 p.m.

Hobson died suddenly in his sleep in June only a day after friends shared a sunny Sunday afternoon with him at the popular club, the Boardy Barn where he was a bouncer.

As word of his death spread to the community, a flood of Facebook messages poured in from friends and loved ones mourning his tragic loss — Hobson was not only known as a bouncer at the Boardy Barn, but at other local spots. He was also a fisherman.
