Southampton Pet of the Week: Yankee

Southampton has some loving pets available for adoption.

This week, the Southampton Animal Shelter is looking to find a home for Yankee, a 2-year-old male beagle-Pomeranian mix.

According to Donald Bambrick, the animal shelter supervisor, Yankee and 11 other dogs were confiscated from a hording situation in September 2011.

"After almost a year of waiting, the court finally allowed us to start finding homes for all the dogs," said Bambrick. "Yankee is the only one still waiting for a home."

All animals are licensed, up to date on their vaccinations, micro-chipped and have been spayed or neutered, according to Bambrick.

Adoption fees typically range from $40 to $60 for a cat and from $60 to $125 for a dog.
