Summer cancer survivorship event set for Peconic Bay Medical Center

We hope you can join us on Thursday, Aug. 15 for our next Peconic Bay Medical Center's Cancer Survivorship Program meeting. The quarterly seminar is entitled "Survivor Strong: Body and Balance Workshop."

This event will provide support, education, and camaraderie to help those who are navigating the cancer survivorship journey.

The session will be focused on full body wellness.

The workshop will provide guidance on mobility and balance, dexterity, and a holistic approach to body and mind wellness. Presentations will be hands on and include Tai Chi Easy, Yoga and breathing exercises with a focus on stress relief, as we work as a team to navigate diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.

We look forward to our growing our community of Survivors and welcome the opportunity to get to know you and share your experience as we negotiate the stresses associated with cancer survivorship.

The survivorship programs include quarterly Survivorship seminars that are focused on living with cancer and flourishing, as well as screening and prevention events to help get the word out to our community. It is our intention to use this forum to spread the word to everyone on the East End of Long Island that is affected by cancer. You are not alone. Defeating cancer requires teamwork.
