Woman Charged with Drug Possession Tries to Destroy Evidence: Police

The incident took place in Riverside, police said.

A Riverside woman was cuffed Sunday after she was caught with drugs during a traffic stop and tried to destroy the evidence, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police, Shavon M. Goode, 33, was arrested at 11:53 p.m. on Brown Street.

Police said Goode was was stopped for a traffic infraction and subsequent investigation found her to be in possession of PCP. Goode attempted to destroy the drug by pouring it out of its container but enough was recovered to charge her for possession and the attempt to get rid of the evidence, police said.

Goode was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor, and tampering with physical evidence, a felony, police said.

She was transported to police headquarters for processing and held for morning arraignment, police said.
