Man Killed In LI Car Crash Identified: Police
Police have identified the man killed in a car crash on Long Island over the weekend, Suffolk County police say.
WEST ISLIP, NY — A car crash killed a man on Long Island Sunday evening, according to Suffolk County police.
Patrick Tarpey, 59, of Amityville, was driving a 2017 Chevy Malibu west on Union Boulevard around 6:45 p.m. in West Islip on Robert Moses Causeway overpass when he drove off the road, struck a cement pillar and died, police said.
Police said he was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
