Bay Shore Man Pleads Guilty in West Islip Snake Theft

All three are safe and back at home at Repxotica on Udall Road.

Three boa constrictors stolen from a West Islip reptile store are safe and back where they belong, according to the store, and a Bay Shore man has pleaded guilty to the theft.

The three snakes were taken from Repxotica, on Udall Road, on December 6. Police arrested Brian Schmieder, 54, of Bay Shore for the theft on Dec. 18.

This past Friday the 54-year-old pleaded guilty to petite larceny, according to a state criminal database. and will be sentenced on February 14, 2014. He has been released on his own recognizance.
