Beaches at four Long Island state parks will open for swimming on Sunday.

With seasonable temperatures forecast, beaches at Robert Moses (fields 2 and 5), Jones Beach (Field 6 and Central Mall), Hither Hills and Sunken Meadow will be open for swimming from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Gov. Andrew Cuomo said.

"With summer quickly coming to an end, I encourage anyone who wishes to take one last swim at our world-class beaches to do so this weekend," Cuomo said. "Lifeguards will be on duty so that New Yorkers and visitors can safely enjoy our state's waters."

Due to warm, sunny weather this month, demand for swimming has remained high, with nearly 200,000 people using beaches at these four parks last weekend. Normally, beaches and pools at state parks close after Labor Day.

Sunny skies and temperatures in the 70s are in the forecast for Sunday.
