The quest for a sixth state championship begins March 27 as the West Islip High School boys lacrosse team kicks-off the 2013 season against Connetquot.

Coming off a memorable season in which the Lions went 22-1 and won its fifth New York State Class A title over the past seven years, West Islip will again be facing some familiar foes throughout the spring.

On March 30, Catholic league powerhouse Chaminade returns to West Islip. The Flyers handed the Lions the team’s only loss in 2012.

The big rivalry games for West Islip are in late April. The Lions travel to Smithtown West on April 23 and welcome Ward Melville to Lions Path on April 29.
