Duck, Duck, Gross! Truck Swerves, Spills Duck Remains in Holbrook

Truck driver was hauling waste from a duck processing plant, police said.

Remains from a duck processing plant spilled into a Holbrook street after a truck swerved to avoid an accident Friday morning, according to Suffolk County Police.

At 9:07 a.m., a man was driving an 18-wheeler on the eastbound service road of Sunrise Highway when he swerved to avoid a collision, cops said.

The sharp turn caused the truck’s rear door to swing open and sent its cargo - waste from a duck processing plant - flying into the street, police said.

The incident prompted authorities to shut down the service road east of Nicolls Road until 1:30 p.m.

No injuries were reported.

The truck is undergoing an inspection by Motor Carrier Safety Section.
