Family Divided Over Jets, Giants Xmas Eve Showdown

The Steinkopfs hope football game doesn't ruin their Christmas.

The Steinkopfs are in search of a Christmas miracle this Saturday.  At least Suzanne is.

The mother of Erich, 16, and wife of Gene, 47, will be thrust into no-man's land when the Jets and Giants collide on Christmas Eve.  Winner remains healthy in the playoff hunt.  Loser gets an early Christmas present.

Erich, a big fan of Jets coach Rex Ryan, echoed his team’s loudmouthed leader: “I cannot wait. The Jets are gonna win, 27-20.”

“I’m a lifelong Giants fan,” said Gene, taking a break Tuesday from his steamfitting job. “My uncles, my father, everybody was a Giants fan.”

Meanwhile, Suzanne is in charge of keeping the peace.  But don't think for a second she won't be tuning in.

"Oh I will definitely be watching, and wrapping gifts too!" she told Patch.  "If the Jets lose then I will have to make sure that every gift on my sons Christmas list is wrapped.  If the Giants lose then, well it's my husband so that's a no-brainer...a cold beer when he walks through the door."
