West Islip High School's Business Department was named one of the ten "Business and Marketing Education Department of the Year-Honorable Mention" award recipients for 2012 by the State Education Department and Business Teachers Association of New York State this past summer.   The award was presented at the Association's Annual Summer Conference which took place at Hofstra University. Business department teachers were recognized for their efforts in developing and implementing a rigorous curriculum for students in the subjects of business and marketing. The business department was lauded particularly for the innovative teaching strategies provided to prepare students for the real-wrold economy after high school.
