Joey Finds Permanent Home with VMCLI Veterinarian

After a grueling journey, Joey, the puppy who was thrown from a moving car, has found his permanent home.

Dr. Lynda Louden, the veterinarian who nursed Joey back to health at the Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island (VMCLI)in West Islip, is adopting the young pitbull, Town of Islip officials announced Saturday during a special adoption event. Louden and her family have fostered Joey in their home since he was discharged from the hospital last month.

Joey has amassed a huge following since being rescued in August. A new Facebook page, called "Joey's Journey," has been established to keep his fans updated on his new life.

The news of Joey's adoption comes nine weeks after he was brought to VMCLI paralyzed and malnourished after being tossed from a moving car in Brentwood.

The search for Joey's abuser continues, as authorities have yet to locate a suspect. A for information that leads to an arrest in the case.
