PHOTOS: West Islip HS Announces Best Photographer
The high school announced the winners of its annual photgraphy contest.

WEST ISLIP, NY — West Islip High School students have caught the shutter bug.
The school announced the winner of its 2022-2023 fall colors photo contest on Thursday.
The contest takes place each year and is open to any student or teacher who wishes to submit photographs for judging.

More than a hundred photos are reviewed each year for the contest, with the top three to seven photographs in each grade selected for inclusion in the judging, a release said. Additionally, more than 150 students, teachers and administrators participated in the voting to select the best
digital photographs for each grade.
Senior Evan Pecorale was announced grandprize winner, for his waterfront, sunset photograph.
