The Week Ahead: Oktoberfest Fundraiser, Halloween Costume Drive
Plan your week around these local events.

Toddlers and their parents can enjoy storytime at the library on Tuesday. Storytime for tots ages 24 months to 41 months will be held at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
The Women of West Islip will host their second Oktoberfest Fundraiserat Farrell's at 6 p.m. Thursday. $10 admission includes a free drink, hot buffet dinner and DJ. There will also be Chinese auction baskets to be raffled off.
 Also bring a non perishable food item for our Thanksgiving food drive.

The West Islip Public Library is offering a free movie showing Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. Coffee and cookies will be served.
The West Islip Public Library is holding an ongoing Halloween costume drive for new and gently used costumes to donate to children in need. The costumes will be distributed through several Long Island organizations before Halloween. You can drop off your donation through Friday, Oct. 19.

Throughout the month of October, you can view the Pink Flags of October display on the front lawn of Good Samaritan Hospital. Hundreds of flags were placed there Sunday by the West Islip Breast Cancer Coalition in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
