It's probably not the way you'd prefer to spend Happy Hour, but with second half property tax payments due, the Town of Islip's Tax Receiver's Office is staying open late Friday.  The office, located at 40 Nassau Ave. in Islip, will be open until 7 p.m Friday to accommodate those who prefer to pay their taxes in person.  Residents can also pay by mail or online, though partial payments cannot be paid online. After Friday, taxes plus penalty and interest must be paid to the County Treasurer's Office in Riverhead.
