West Islip High Celebrates 15 College-Bound Athletes

Fifteen West Islip High student-athletes have committed to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level, the district announces.

WEST ISLIP, NY — Fifteen student-athletes from West Islip High School's class of 2025 are set to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level in the fall.

The new commitments, combined with the 17 made earlier in the fall, bring the total to 32 student-athletes from the Class of 2025.

"The West Islip community is proud of these student athletes and wishes them continued success as they advance to higher education," district officials said in a statement.

The following student-athletes have committed to their respective colleges:

  • Gavin DeVito, track and field - Stony Brook University
  • Ava Reynolds, swimming - St. Joseph’s University
  • Sienna Pollock, volleyball - Mount Saint Mary College
  • Angelise Acosta, soccer - SUNY Oswego
  • Adilia Trim, track and field - Bethune-Cookman University
  • Nils Haugen, lacrosse - Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
  • Thomas Carini, soccer - SUNY Brockport
  • Stephen McDermott, football - Eastern University
  • Brendan O’Regan, track and field - Merchant Marine Academy
  • Michael Cea, wrestling - University of Scranton
  • Nick Henry, lacrosse - Manhattan University
  • James Rogler, wrestling - Gannon University
  • Patrick Keniksman, soccer - St. Joseph’s University
  • Thomas Bomberger, baseball - Stockton University
  • Michael Harbord, cross-country - SUNY New Paltz.
